Multifunctional Ligands for Enhanced Catalysis (MLCat)

Transition metal-catalyzed C-H functionalization offers a greener approach to chemical synthesis by eliminating the need for pre-functionalized starting materials. The MLCat project addresses the current limitations in reaction selectivity and the reliance on precious metals by developing multifunctional ligands that enable selective C-H bond activation without the use of directing groups. This research aims to unlock new industrial applications in fine chemicals, drug discovery, and polymer modification.

The MLCat project is funded by the European Union (ERC Starting Grant 101039994). Views and opinions expressed are those of the author(s) only and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union or the European Research Council.
